Paternal Imprisonment and Father–Child Relationships: A Systematic Review

چکیده

Although father–child relationships (FCRs) are central to children’s experience of paternal imprisonment, few studies address this subject. A systematic review was conducted synthesize the literature on imprisonment and FCRs. Four academic databases were searched for peer-reviewed studies. Thirty identified. It found that FCRs most often deteriorate due but sometimes remain stable or change positively. key factors influence FCRs: (a) quality preprison FCRs, (b) frequency contact during (c) child’s primary caregivers’ role in facilitating contact, (d) prison barriers maintaining imprisonment. The interplay between these is essential understanding context, which may explain divergent experiences An integrated framework context presented. Limitations directions research discussed.
